I’m originally from Jupiter, Florida, but now call Gainesville my home. I moved to Gainesville right after I graduated Dwyer High School to pursue a degree from the University of Florida. Never thinking I would settle in Gainesville, I find myself still here years later! While there are things I miss about living in Jupiter, I do love Gainesville and all of the activities the town has to offer. From year round sporting events to nearby springs and trails, there is something for everyone.

I met my husband, Jared, through an internship my senior year at UF. Shortly after graduation, we got engaged and planned our dream wedding. We wed in 2011, and welcomed our first daughter, Kennedy, in 2013. She is the perfect mix of sweet and sassy, and we are having so much fun being parents. In 2017, we welcomed our second daughter, Reese. We like to spend our time taking walks around our neighborhood, going on mini weekend getaways to the beach, and working on fun DIY projects around our house.

Both Jared and I love to travel and enjoy spending time on the water. We love taking Kennedy and Reese on weekend getaways and seeing things through their eyes. Whether it be a weekend trip to Jupiter to visit family, or just a short drive to St. Augustine to spend a day at the beach, it’s always fun to live through your child’s excitement over the simplest things.

I first entered the insurance world back when I was still in high school. I worked for a life insurance company part-time, and then rejoined the industry starting my career at McGriff-Williams in 2011. I work as a Personal Insurance Advisor in the Personal Lines Department helping clients with their auto, home, and/or umbrella needs.

Fun Facts about Michelle Taber

What life lesson do you still live by today? My mom always taught us that everything happens for a reason. You may not see it or understand it when you are in the middle of it, but it will all work out in the end.

Where can you be found on your lunch break? Running errands to avoid having to run them on the weekend, or squeezing in a quick workout at the gym

Favorite quote: “Do not spoil what you have by desiring what you do not have. Remember that what you now have was once among the things you only hoped for” –Epicurus

Beverage of choice: Diet Coke. I know, it’s terrible for you.

Favorite Gainesville activity: Gator Football Season. My Dad went to UF, so my parents, my sister, and brother-in-law often say with us for a few games throughout the season. Watching football is fun, but being able to host my family from out of town is one of my favorite things!
